Client Need
The IBM Executive Briefing Centers offer comprehensive, in-depth technology briefings, product demonstrations and solution workshops on IBM Systems to their clients. These briefing are an extremely effective pre-sales tool resulting in over 80% of attending companies making purchases.

IBM’s goal was to utilize web technologies to showcase the SME product and solution briefings thereby extending the reach of the briefing center to serve new clients, deepen and strengthen their relationships with their clients and accelerate the sales cycle.
What OpenCrowd Did
  • Working with IBM we helped conceptualize and define the vision of a virtual briefing center to achieve the above goals
  • The virtual briefing center was designed as a client centric platform that serves the informational needs of the customer and helps IBM assist and influence their customers through the sales cycle
  • The My Briefing Center component, in concert with the Resource Center, Event Center and SME Forum allows the customer to personalize the user experience and content presented, to their interests, save presentations to share with colleagues, manage their event calendar and engage in discussions with SMEs and others in their organization.
  • OpenCrowd was responsible for the end-to-end deliverable from defining the concept, facilitating consensus around the requirements across a range of stakeholders, designing the user experience, the solution architecture and building the product.
  • Currently the initial pilot phase has been deployed and the next phase is under construction.
Outcome
  • In an era of shrinking travel budgets, clients can get on-demand access to in-depth multi-media briefings delivered directly by IBM’s distinguished subject matter experts (SMEs) over the web.
  • Based on client profiles and interests, it allows IBM to present the right information to the right client at the right time.
  • The virtual offering allows IBM to target growth markets where they do not have a physical footprint.
