OpenCrowd Scorecards
OpenCrowd Scorecards help enterprises determine the maturity and viability of an open source technology to fit within their infrastructure.
Challenges
With a multitude of open source projects available, enterprises have to research all their options to determine the maturity of a technology they wish to adopt. As with closed source products, there are different open source implementations of the same concept and enterprises need to evaluate each project and assess which implementation best fits into their enterprise architecture.
Criteria for adoption range from the strength of the community to the breadth of the functionality of the technology. Enterprises need to be able to determine the level of support available to them through the documentation generated by the community and others to the amount of professional support by 3rd party vendors.
What we offer
Using an internal scoring mechanism, OpenCrowd Scorecards provide a rating for a project in the specified categories that helps enterprises determine the level of adoption.
OpenCrowd generates scorecards on projects internally that are available by request to our clients as well as specific scorecards tailored to our clients' own metrics. Our clients use our scorecards in helping them determine the level of adoption within the enterprise, whether to use the technology in a research capacity or if it is ready to be used in mission critical production applications.
